A Toy to Share

2014
Teamwork in support of social initiatives is one of the essential functions of the Lucy Amado Foundation (Fundala), as it strengthens the integral development of children in the region while consistently promoting a culture of peace. With this purpose, the program “A Toy to Share” was created—bringing toys and joy to children each year during Children’s Day, Christmas, and other special occasions through visits to schools, hospitals, and other institutions.
Through the “A Toy to Share” campaign, the Lucy Amado Foundation visited two schools in Maracaibo: Joaquín Piña School, where toys were distributed to 54 children, and Joaquín Lenzima School, where 43 children received gifts.
Fundala, together with the children’s entertainment group Sonrisas Kids, also delivered 60 toys to hospitalized children in the pediatric unit of the Maracaibo Children’s Hospital. In addition, toys were given to mothers for their youngest children.
The Lucy Amado Foundation also had the opportunity to gift toys to listeners of the Ok Chamos radio program, where the foundation has a regular segment every Tuesday, broadcast on Maracaibo station OK 101FM. Toys were also delivered to the children of mothers who actively support the foundation’s work.
The “A Toy to Share” campaign concluded successfully with the donation of 76 toys to underprivileged children in the Las Mercedes community on the road to La Concepción, and 26 toys to children from the Perpetuo Socorro Church in Maracaibo.
2015
As part of the “A Toy to Share” program, in July 2015 the Lucy Amado Foundation delivered 28 toys to the Niños Zulianos Foundation and the C.E.I. Soy Feliz early childhood center. Additionally, during the Ok Chamos radio program, two board games were gifted to young listeners.
Furthermore, 30 toys were delivered to children at the Simón Zulia Foundation School and Seis Arcoíris, located at kilometer 12.5 on the road to La Concepción, bringing joy to the youngest members of the community.
